| The Ravi Shankar in St Johns Street
near Angel underground is a well known vegetarian Restaurant. We decided to try the restaurant for lunch at which time they have only their Lunch buffet (and no a la carte menu). The restaurant is in a busy area and is small but with a pleasant and warm environment. There is a mixed clientele of business people and tourists. The atmosphere is easy going as it is a self serve buffet so there aren't waiters running around with too much to carry, although, because of it's size, it can feel a bit cramped at times. Lunch Time Buffet Only. £4.50 + drinks. Excellent selection of food from starters through to deserts. Starters A variety of Bhaji's with an assortment of chutneys and sauces. Main Puri, 3 types of vegetable curry - Potatoes and cabbage, Spinach and Paneer and a mixed curry (potatoes, aubergines, etc.) Rice and Dal Deserts Gulab Jambon and kheer. Drinks From Water, Mango, Passion fruit to Tea and coffee. A good lunch venue as you can help yourself to the buffet as often as you like and eat at the speed you desire. Very Reasonably priced. |
